Banking & Finance Law.
Capital moves on documents, and documents are where deals live or die. We paper loans, restructurings, and private credit that close on schedule, teaming with our bankruptcy and restructuring colleagues when a credit turns into a workout.
Overview
Finance law is an engineering discipline wearing a suit. Covenants are load-bearing; cross-defaults are tripwires; the intercreditor agreement decides who eats last. We draft structures that hold their shape when the market leans on them.
Senior and mezzanine lending, syndications and club deals, acquisition finance, private credit, regulatory compliance, and workouts. We act for banks, funds, sponsors, and borrowers — always with an eye on the clause that decides the argument two years from now.
Cross-border facilities are coordinated from our Chicago office, with associated counsel in London and Singapore executing security and registration steps in their jurisdictions on the same timeline as the main documentation. The credit agreement and the foreign filings close together, as they should.
